_____ Extras: suit, cap, and goggles
_____ Towels (pack at least two)
_____ Something warm to wear between events.
_____ Sandals (easy on/easy off)
_____ Activities (travel games): Games, playing cards.
_____ Healthy snacks: (granola bars, energy bars, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, sandwiches, pretzels))
_____ Water
_____ Something to sit on between events (old towel, chair, blanket)
_____ Make sure your name is on all gear (suits, caps, goggles, parka, t-shirts, towels)
SWIM MEET CHECKLIST FOR PARENTS
_____ Plan to have your swimmer at the venue 30 minutes prior to the warm-up
_____ Print a heat sheet the night before the meet or buy a heat sheet at the meet.
_____ Sharpie, pen, and highlighter. Highlight the events your swimmer is participating in.
_____ Chairs/tent
_____ Snacks, water, cooler
_____ Cash for heat sheet and concessions
_____ Dress in layers. Bring a change of shoes. (Indoor pools are very warm. Timers will end up with wet feet.)
REMINDERS FOR SWIM PARENTS
_____ Parents are not allowed behind the blocks or near the coach tables
_____ Parent code of conduct
_____ Remember that learning is a process.
_____ Set an example of good sportsmanship
_____ Remind your swimmer to check in with the coach upon arrival, before each event, after each event, and before you leave
_____ Pay attention to the meet and the events. It is your responsibility to make sure your athlete is ready to swim at least 15 minutes before each of their events.
_____ Make sure your athlete is staying hydrated, eating healthy, and resting between events.
